Meragesh
Short FIlm
The film “Meragesh” shows a choreography in a very special location, it tells about the closure and the beginning of a chapter. Meragesh is a Hebrew word which means being emotionally moved. In 2015, Mayke lived for six months in Jerusalem, Israel. This experience inspired her to create this choreography, it is her interpretation of how she felt living in a complicated city with several orthodox religions and the conflict that happened between Palestine and Israel.
Together with Pierre Balda, Mayke also created “Meragesh” version to be performed in theatres or special events.
